What does the name Budapest mean to you? Have you been to Budapest, or read about it, or heard of it? Do you know where it is? Let me show you what I have seen in a short visit.
This is what you might see if you were flying into the city. Or maybe this:
Of course that is just a tiny view of a city of over two and a half million people. It is a merging of three cities; Pest, to the East of the Danube as it flows south at this point. Buda on the west, and Obuda. I saw a lot in the 48 hours I was there, and it is taking me longer than that to blog about the experience. The good news for you is that I will not try to put it all into this one posting.
After a long flight from Toronto Canada, through London Heathrow airport, then on to Budapest, my wife, Nancy, and I arrived a little gray like the skies. We were looking forward to our adventure.
We were fortunate to leave home just before a storm left 12 inches of snow on the ground. In Budapest, it was warm for December, about 42 F (6 C). After some luggage delays at the airport, our driver drove us to the river boat that would be our home for the next ten days and base for our 48 hour stay in Budapest.
What is on your bucket list?
Where would you like to go today?
Beautiful views of the city Doug – I’ve been to Budapest a few times and absolutely love it! Thanks for bringing back great memories!
It is my pleasure. It is great to connect with you through #blogboost.
Stay tuned for more memories from Budapast. It will be my theme for the next few posts.
Have you seen it in December when the booths are set up in the streets for the Christmas Markets?
