The walls around the top of the hill were ancient when the earthquake of 1960 destroyed them. The walls were rebuilt but there is nothing inside the building, just walls. The bus ride up to the top yielded a beautiful view of the sea. There is also a cable car that will take you to the top if you are not up for a strenuous walk.
You can see how the buildings are limited in height and the streets are wide, nothing like the old city.
At the top, the views are the best, but the camels are not impressed.
The road down the hill is different at every turn.
