This post is related to the prompt from our challenge facilitator Paul. He suggested we celebrate the eleventh day of the July challenge with Eleven Pipers Piping. Well, I did find some pipers piping and some drummers drumming. They were celebrating. In fact, I found twelve pipers . They were not all in the same band.
In the picture above, we have five pipers and three drummers. Below, there are seven pipers and five drummers. That is not just odd, their numbers are all odd. Now, what do you suppose the man dragging the wagon is contributing to this band? Water bottles?
There were other bands distributed along the length of the parade, like the police brass band leading their mounted unit.
Everyone likes to see the horses in a parade. and they are followed by their personal cleanup crew with shovels at the ready.
Oh no, I was not expecting more pipers and drummers. I cannot even count them all.
These drummers are specialists, they do not even have to walk.
Not just bands, but there were others piping up, like our representatives in governmental positions who are piping up on our behalf all year long.
And of course, the Mayor of our town had a float. I am not sure he is setting a good safety example but he is definitely standing up for our town.
Let’s have another look at that fine steel drum band.
These are such great photos, Doug! I can almost hear the music in the background as I go through them. Very cool!
That looks like so much fun!!!! Horses and bagpipes! That’s as good as it gets!
