The drive from Cape Town to the Cape of Good Hope started off along the beachside communities of Clifton and Camp Bay along Victoria Road to Hout Bay then climbed up the mountains along Chapman’s Peak Drive.
The mountains in the background are lovingly referred to as the twelve apostles. There is a hotel and spa by that name if you are interested in a quality place to stay.
When the beach ends, the coast road rises up to skirt along the side of the mountains.
Before we head up to Chapman Peak Drive, a short break gives us some time to look back over Hout Bay.
Notice the rocks just poking above the surface on the extreme left of the picture above. Those little guys are one of the reasons this is such a treacherous coast. They just might get overlooked when staring up at the big rugged cliffs.
I love how it seems like the mountains are touching the bay!
That could be because I step back from the edge so that I do not have to look over the edge.
