Casablanca has a history of conflict and changes of leadership. The people have been ruled by Berber, Roman, Arab, Portuguese,Spanish, British, French and currently Moroccan governments. There have been revolts and protests against the rulers but each has left an influence on the architecture and design of the city. A ride through the streets will show the differences in each neighbourhood.

Up the hill from the beaches are the mansions of families that have lived through a lot of that conflict. I want to show you some of these neighbourhoods.
This is adjacent to the Royal Golf course and horse racing track.

The business district is very modern and so is the transportation system.
Look at the botanical garden and town square in the center of the city.

What would a town square dedicated to Mohanned V be without a fountain for the pigeons?

I love the fountain with all the birds.
There is some more video of that fountain in another post.
Beautiful pictures, as always! And interesting architecture. Even the tops of the trees seem different.
Maybe it is the palm trees. Did you notice they have to be pruned.
Reading this blog makes me feel like I have been there.
Stay tuned there is more to see. ☺️
