Malta is a small island of one hundred twenty two square miles (316 sq.km) located south of Sicily. It has a population of over half a million people. The highest point on the island is two hundred forty three meters at Dingli Cliffs on the southwest coast. Can you see our previous ports of Sorrento and Messina to the north along the Italian coast?
We docked on the North east coast in the harbour city Valletta [44] and took a tour bus to the south west coast [12] to visit the chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene at the top of the Dingli Cliffs.
There are two interesting things to see here besides the cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea , the chapel and the Malta Air Traffic Radar station.
I can summarize all that with this video.
The next stop on our tour is about four kilometres away near the town of Rabat. The walled community of two hundred and fifty residents was once Malta’s capital and is called Mdina.
I want to go to Malta. That looks incredible, and I’ve just added Malta to my bucket list! Thank you for the introduction and don’t forget to blog on!
I really needed these post when my son was Homeschooling full time and we was learning about Countries and States. If you know of Homeschooling Families you should share the post with them.
