Europa Point, Gibraltar
We met our local tour guide after walking through the border crossing, waving our passports in the air. Immediately across the border is the international airstrip for Gibraltar. It is an active runway with planes landing on a regular schedule. From there, and the sea, everything is up. The only space of flat land was not
The rules for the small tour bus were posted, in all official languages, on a sign above the driver.
The clouds that are frequently around the top of the Rock, bring moisture from the Mediterranean sea up to the top of the Rock. The rock is limestone and is quite porous. The rain that is dropped on the top by the damp clouds flows through the porous rock and runs back down to the sea.
The first stop was at the southern tip of the country, about five kilometers away from where we entered at the northern end.
There is a lot to see here at this point.
This is also a good place for a radar scanning station.
