Guadeloupe Market
Guadeloupe is divided into 32 communes. At mid-morning our tour bus stopped at a market place in the commune of Sainte Francois. There is a market place here where local artists sell their crafts.
We had a walk for some morning exercise. The parking lot was near the church and the shopping mall was a few blocks away.
When the tour busses arrive at the same time to use the washrooms, the lineups are rather long. That did not leave much time for exploring the shops without missing the bus for the return trip. Here are a few pictures of what I saw for sale.
While sitting and waiting for the tour group to gather and enjoy a sample of the fruit punch, one of the locals brought the kids out to show off and entertain us.
This stop ended with a walk back to the bus. Fortunately the rain was holding off and the wash rooms in the mall were open.
I’d love to try some of that fruit punch! Glad the rain held off!
Oh… you guys would have been spectacular guests at my MeetUp in Gosier !

How much longer are you there for Doug? Do you want to meet some locals?
Rob !
Those picture are from a trip I took in April.
Hey Doug
What are the thingies in the punch bottles?
Look interesting, to say the least – but I hope the bottles haven’t been there since 1688!
Cheers f
I am not sure what is in the bottles. It does not look like fruit but more like some parts of invertebrates from the sea. I do not see any best before dates on the bottles in the pictures.
