Leaving the Japanese port of Kagoshima at 4:00 P.M. the Diamond princess headed for the island of Jeju off the southern tip of South Korea.
Although the ship was scheduled to dock at 10:00 A.M. there were many out on the decks watching the sail into port.
We booked an excursion to see some of the sites around the city. I will have a few posts coming up to show you some of them. By 7:00 P.M we were back on board and leaving the port. The sun was setting and the view of the harbour from the ship was beautiful. These were all taken with my iPhone, no telephoto lens was used, but as I am reviewing them, I am wishing I had taken some with the DSLR.
The first three pictures could have been stitched together to create a long panoramic picture that would look something like the last one above. However, it would not have looked any better than the one above. By showing separate pictures I was able to show more detail of the city.
Jeju Island is one of South Korea’s self governing regions. Jeju City is a popular tourist destination with a permanent population around a half million.
Doug I love all your pictures. You are living my dream. Keep on truckin’!
Isn’t that why we work so many years and save up for retirement? Plan well for that time and travel when your health is still good. You do not have to wait for retirement.
I will only visit many of these locations through your pictures but it seems like I’m right there! So beautiful and even with you iphone the photos are exquisite!
