There are signs on how to get to Joker’s Hill and what not to do when you get there. Even signs where not to go when you are there. There are signs for dogs but I doubt they can read them. I wonder if they might be better at obeying the instructions than their significant others are. There are signs for horses about not proceeding with riders on their backs, probably because they might get knocked off by low branches.
There are many maps of the trails but you will have to get them online before you get to the trails unless you have a good cell phone data plan.

There are some dangerous places where signs could be helpful but removing the hazards may be a better solution.
Another nice tour with you! I like reading signs and some are quite comical.
Yes, some are definitely designed to entertain, attract our attention, and make us remember to buy something. 😉
Great pictures, Doug. I like reading signs. When I lived in Northern CA, they had to remove the Peacock Crossing sign because people kept stealing it. No one took the new Deer Crossing sign.
How do the peacocks know where it is safe to cross if they do not have a sign? 😉
I think the deer are better at protecting their sign.
I will search to see if there are any Peacock Crossing signs on eBay. 🙂
Thanks for your comment.
Loved hiking through Jokers Hill with you Doug! And I always enjoy reading signs on paths like this.. always something offbeat to discover 🙂
I have a few more videos coming up in future posts.
Thanks for your interest.
Doug, I am one who doesn’t see never mind read signs. Looks like some dangerous spots on the trail that could use some signs.
Where would be the best place to mount the sign so that it would be noticed. If it is up high, you might trip on something below. Maybe right on the ground so it might be noticed when looking down at a cell phone.
