Morning in Copenhagen

As the sun began to light up the city of Copenhagen the buildings looked more imposing. During the night, or was it early morning, we were roused from our sleep by the booming of fireworks. I am not aware of the reason for the celebration or was it a commemoration? Perhaps an acknowledgement of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II or perhaps a regular Saturday night occurrence at the Tivoli Park. From the hotel room window, we could see the fireworks bursting above the roof of the Green building below.

The clouds, being higher in the sky, were the first to reflect the light of the morning sun.

Time to put the big camera away and go for a walk to see more of this beautiful city. When I came across this statue, I wondered if this couple had stared at each other all night.

Lost in each other’s gaze.
