One of the many attractions in Niagara Falls is the butterfly conservatory. It is part of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and is home to about 2000 tropical butterflies. An ideal place to spend a cool rainy fall day.
The screen on the inside of the windows keeps the butterflies from landing on the glass where they may get stuck to the glass.
The food providing trees have to be replaced every few weeks because as you may recall, caterpillars eat a lot of leaves.
There is a special area called the Emergence area where butterflies are emerging from their cocoons. Over the period of a year, visitors can watch over forty-five thousand butterflies emerge. However, since their life span is about three weeks, the conservatory needs to import a few thousand butterflies a month from butterfly farms in tropical countries to keep their display full for your next visit.

Of course, I had to show Lia the butterflies and her favorite is the black and pink one!
Hi Martha, thanks for the comment. I took the liberty of fixing an auto-correct typo.
