For the past week I have been telling you about and showing you pictures of the resort. Maybe a map will help you locate it within Ontario. It is marked with an orange rectangle.
Zooming in a little more you will see some of the neighbouring communities. This resort is know in the community for the best swimming pool in the region. Memberships will let them use the pool through the winter.
There is a lot to look after in a resort this size. In addition to the cabins, there are camping sites and trailer sites. The resort is used in all seasons for fishing and snowmobiling.
The propane tanks, used for heating the gas fireplace, are equipped with a satellite transmitter to automatically call the gas company when it is time for a refill.
The community also visits the Salut Bistro on the resort for delicious meals. A tent is set up to host group events as well as the take out meals.
In addition to swings, slides, teeter-totters, and a basketball court, there are other games of skill and chance to help pass the time.
Way back in the field, is an antique grader. The roads are in great shape but I think this piece of machinery is enjoying its retirement.
Only one thing would have made my stay better. As I mentioned in earlier posts, I could not upload very well for my blog posts. But in all fairness, I did not come here to spend time on the internet. This was the equipment provided by Bell to serve three cottages.
Maybe Starlink will be available in a year or two. However, the pool, hot tub, and games room with a Foosball table and a ping-pong table were a much better vacation activity.
It really does look like an idyllic spot. Time spent with family is so precious. That is the greatest gift.
