The Port of Rhodes, Greece
Rhodes is the name of the city and also the name of the island which is part of the Greek nation. The Costa Fortuna docked here for a day while passengers were swept off in buses to tour the island. This is what I could see from the ship when I got back from the bus tour of Lydia.
The videos were taken from the top of the Cruise ship.
Below are a few frame captures from the low resolution video above.
The city of Rhodes, population approximated at fifty thousand in 2011, thrives on tourism and the climate of the Mediterranean Sea. Take a couple of minutes to look at the modern city.
Like most European cities, the ancient is surrounded by the modern. The ancient garners World Heritage status, the modern provides comfort for residents and visitors. Historic sights get restored when time permits, they have been patiently waiting.
At the end of the day it was time for a last look as the ship left the port of Rhodes.
Loved this post; and especially loved the videos in this one.. the music you added to each one !!
Yes, the music is much better than than the wind blowing across the 🎤 microphone.
These are beautiful pictures and videos, Doug. The Royal Caribbean ships were my chosen vessels for cruising. These photographs brought back memories of my Eastern and Western Mediterranean cruises.
Most of my cruises are on Princess.
One word – GORGEOUS!!!! I love when you add videos, it makes me feel I’m right there!
Thanks Martha, I am surprised that I have learned how to squeeze some useful stuff out of those old videos. I am anxiously waiting to be able to travel and gather more.
