Toronto takes on a different magical look at night. Without all of the daytime commuters that are working “banker’s hours” the city becomes a place of entertainment seekers. That will include sports events, theatre events and often accompanied by a meal out at one of the many restaurants.
Sometimes the construction stops at night, but sometimes it continues when deadlines have to be met or the interruption of schedules overrides other concerns. Some of the fast food places that are open for the daytime commuter are closed in the evening.
Public transportation between the city and the suburbs is pretty good. Driving into the city and parking in the city is difficult. Below is a picture of the new bus terminal. It resembles an airport terminal without the same security measures. There is a departure level and an arrival level. Fare payment is almost entirely automated with transit card payments through contactless card readers. Arrival and departure signs are updated with the departure gate numbers as they become available.
What is your preferred method of transportation? Do you live in or visit a city often?
Toronto is my list to visit. We had to cancel our planned trip a few years ago. I live in the suburbs, but will visit the closest cities a few times a month.
