Toronto Zoo is buzzing

The Toronto Zoo is in the Scarborough suburb of Toronto in the Rouge valley. It is an ideal location near the 401 expressway and nestled on the western edge of the Rouge Valley National Urban Park. It is not just a place to visit the animals, it is a great place to walk and relax in the beautiful surroundings.

The zoo is designed to be a welcoming place for both the visitors and the residents. It has not been possible to create realistic habitats for all species, like this whale for example, but it is still represented.

Transportation into much of northern Canadian lakes is by airplane where temporary shelters are built. This is typical of the prospectors and trappers that ventured into the wild and encountered the animals in their natural environment.

Before we rush off to see all of the other animals here, think about all of nature, the trees, the flowers, the birds and the pollinators. Take in a deep breath, relax and enjoy!
