Having a free concert in the park every Wednesday night is terrific. Even better when the evening is warm and there is no wind. If you arrive early, there is time for dinner in the restaurant on the edge of the park. Then you can enjoy an after-dinner drink of your choice at your leisure while you listen to the entertainment.
Some people just come early with their lawn chairs and meet their acquaintances for a chat to catch up on life in the last week. These people were there more than a half hour before the music started.
The sound technicians are already set up and ready to go. All of the sound checks had been done.
The media was there to get their pictures before the show. A great photo op for the mayor.
Now let’s get started with some introductions and a few clips of some of the songs.
How did the audience react to the concert? They got involved, some more than others.
Do you recognize any of the tunes or the performers that are honoured here by this tribute band?
I love the couple dancing in the front. Looks like a great night. I love the idea that you can dinner and drinks and enjoy the festivities.
This looks like such a fun and inviting atmosphere. I really like the tribute band theme, it’s great!
Doug, wow! Looks like a good time! At first I thought, what’s with all the wigs? Then, as they introduced their characters, I got it. I recognized a number of the songs, and it was great seeing all the young and old/er dancers! Thanks for bringing this event to us! (Btw, there is an Aurora in Colorado, so I was geographically confused for a minute there. 🙂 )
These concerts look like so much fun. If I was there, I’d be up front dancing with the other couple!
