The most popular attraction in the rain forest exhibit was the two toed sloth. He is sometimes called a two finger sloth because he has three toes on his back feet.
Since they spend most of their life hanging upside down from tree branches, their fur is parted in a line down their stomach and grows towards their back so that the rain will run off and keep their body dry.
Watch this video and see if you can count his fingers and toes.
Here are a couple of links you might want to look into if you want to learn more about sloths.

Hi, I love sloths. I think they’re adorable, and I’ve always been intrigued with their fingers and toes.
They would require a lot of care to keep them as a pet. In my travels, i met a man who had one that he would let you hold, for a gratuity fee, so that you could take a photo. He cared for it well enough to keep it bathed and smelling sweet. Now, knowing more, that may not have been best for the sloth.
Great photos! I think the Sloth needs a manicure by the looks of his nails! LOL
It gives truth to the fact that is possible to hang on by your finger nails.
Those sloths are so cute!
Who wouldn’t want that life every once in awhile. I think sloths are fascinating. I don’t think I could move that slow if I was dead. Thanks for the fun and educational post Doug.
