Valletta is Malta’s Harbour and Capital

With a population of 5157 in 2021 and an area of only 0.61 square kilometres it is the smallest capital city. It is definitely a fortified city with the walls coming right down to the port.

When pictures are side by side, a gallery, you can click on them to see a larger version.

Some shops on the harbour road,

some greenery to take away from the fortifications.

Across the harbour is a sanctuary for smaller craft.

The cruise ships come in various sizes. For example, here are two from the MSC line, appropriately named the Opera and the Grandiosa.

The next post will include some videos from Valletta.

  1. learned something new today! the answer to the question – which is the smallest capital city?! and as always, thank you for this stunning virtual tour

  2. That water was so pretty and I didn’t know about putting pictures together. Thank you for sharing that. I with Charlie and I were there because it would be such a pretty place to take our Dogs on a walk while looking at the buildings.

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
