Canada celebrates 150 year birthday
On the first of July, 2017 Canada celebrated its 150 year anniversary of becoming a commonwealth of Provinces.
People from small towns and large cities gathered together in their communities to celebrate.
Some came in old cars, or trucks,
Some came in not so old cars and trucks.
Some brought their model vehicles.
Some came on horseback,
Some marched in bands playing drums, or horns, or bagpipes.
They celebrated the diversity of cultures in the country,
And our little town was prepared for the celebration. They dusted off the old fire truck,
They had the snow plow painted and ready, just in case. . . they might need it for crowd control, to clear the way for the fire truck.
And the parade ended when the police arrived. They brought their newest SUV to show they were happy to celebrate too.
Happy Birthday Canada

What a colorful parade Doug! Looks like the weather was perfect for Canada’s 150th year celebration!
Thanks Martha. Yes it was nice for the short time of the parade here. Other parts of the country, like the capital city Ottawa, were treated to frequent free showers.
