Alicante Spain – Port to mountain top

Lets take a bus ride from the Port of Alecante, Spain up to the Santa Barbera Castle on the top of the hill that stands guard over the city.

The first part of the excursion is to get onto the bus, meet the guide, and get out of the port. For most ports the only way out is by bus, particularly if it is a container port rather than a cruise ship terminal.

The ride through the city is usually interesting if the bus is not driving too fast. I have slowed these videos down about twenty percent and it makes understanding the guide easier too. The reflections off the windows are always worse on sunny days.

When the weather is ideal for exercising in the park, it is another great reason to skip going to the gym.

If you were feeling particularly energetic, this would be a good challenge to bike up to the castle.

The views over the city keep getting better.

At the top, this is what you will see, and more in the next post.

Does you local community have custom made covers for their maintenance access points (man holes) ?

  1. I’ve never been to Spain so thanks for the photos and video. My sister and her husband was there this winter but didn’t talk much about it.

  2. First I would never make it up there on a bike and most likely wouldn’t walking either. Instead you will find me in the Park waiting for you to return. The pictures were pretty and no, our man holes don’t have covers like these but I wish they did.
