Today was a beautiful sunny winter day. It was a few degrees above freezing and I thought it was a good day to take my camera for a walk to the Case woodlot. If you look back at my posts from October 2020 you will see a series of posts about the case woodlot.
You will notice that the snow on the trails is well packed down from all the visitors. When you are surrounded by trees, “look up, look way up”.
You will also see that the pond is frozen over and there have been a lot of hockey games played here in the last few weeks.
This is a very popular place for people to walk their dogs. Today I had a feeling that there were more dogs than people. I will show some video of them in another post.
I was not the only one taking pictures in the woodlot today. One young man was making a video of himself and his two beautiful energetic husky dogs.
The pond is beautiful! Seems scary, though, to try using it when it is frozen.
The ice should be thicker than a few tabletops and the water under it is not very deep.
A beautiful interlude that took me back many years to memories of skating in the winter time. Great photos! Will definitely come back for more
Thanks Tucker. The pictures always turn out better when the sun shines. (Y)
I’m so glad you posted your wintery walk! I quite enjoy “walking with you!” Trying to imagine that brisk air and crunchy steps in snow. Thanks, from sunny So Cal!
I was there with you, too, Kathleen, also from sunny So Cal
Nice work, Doug.
Oh my! Watching your video made me feel the cold but was awesome knowing it brought back memories of my childhood on the pond behind our house! Awesome pictures!
Doug, I love your work. Thank you! I can just smell the winter air, feel the texture of the snow under my boots, and hear the crunch as my steps come down. Awesome!
