Case Woodlot Pond

Today was a beautiful sunny winter day. It was a few degrees above freezing and I thought it was a good day to take my camera for a walk to the Case woodlot. If you look back at my posts from October 2020 you will see a series of posts about the case woodlot.

The snow covered winter trail.

You will notice that the snow on the trails is well packed down from all the visitors. When you are surrounded by trees, “look up, look way up”.

The trees look different without their leaves.

You will also see that the pond is frozen over and there have been a lot of hockey games played here in the last few weeks.

Be careful of the ice, you are walking on water.

This is a very popular place for people to walk their dogs. Today I had a feeling that there were more dogs than people. I will show some video of them in another post.

I counted four places cleared for skating or hockey practice

I was not the only one taking pictures in the woodlot today. One young man was making a video of himself and his two beautiful energetic husky dogs.

  1. A beautiful interlude that took me back many years to memories of skating in the winter time. Great photos! Will definitely come back for more

  2. Oh my! Watching your video made me feel the cold but was awesome knowing it brought back memories of my childhood on the pond behind our house! Awesome pictures!

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
