That would be a land bridge that connects the port which is on an island to the mainland on the southeast coast of Norway not the bridge of the cruise ship. To get into town, we had to walk across the island and then across the bridge.
The views from the bridge were interesting since we could see different things as we walked across the bridge. We could look to the south.
And we could look to the north along the channel between the port islands and the mainland.
After crossing the bridge to the mainland we could see where the land transportation connects with the watercraft.
Looking back to where we came from on the other side of the bridge,
we could see the cruise ship peaking over the rooves of the homes and businesses on the island.

P.P.S. A video from the bridge with all the traffic noise.
Hello Doug, gorgeous views of Haugesund, they remind me of Portland Oregon where I am from with lots of bridges and foggy waterways. In fact, the bridge in the second pic in the background looks very similar to our Fremont bridge in downtown. Thank you for sharing. Sending love. Jaime
Hi Jamie, thanks for the comment. I’m glad you can relate. I suppose you seldom walked across the bridge, always driving across.
