Kangaroos and Tigers at the Zoo

Wandering through the Toronto Zoo, it is easy to travel from Australia to Asia when experiencing the Australasia region. When one picture is of a kangaroo and the next is of a tiger, you know you have made the transition.

The Kangaroos know how to take it easy in the shade. You will not see much activity in the middle of the day.

The tigers are moved around to different display areas and have a break from being on display all day. The Amur Tiger is probably better known as the Siberian Tiger. If you know cats as pets, you probably know that each one has their own personality.

The statue below Shows how big these cats are. Tall enough to reach the hoop of an NBA basketball net without jumping and their jumping ability is pretty amazing too.

The zoom lens on the new iPhone is pretty good. These pictures were single frames removed from the video below.

  1. WOW that tiger is a BIG boy! (or girl) This zoo looks awesome, I’d love to visit it. Also great videos and still shots taken from the videos!

    1. I might have enough pictures and video to finish this challenge. If not there are some halloween decorations in the 🐴 neighborhood.

  2. Beautiful animal, the tiger, and you were lucky to get to photograph it so well 🙂
Shame that the roos were just chilling; the real fun is when they’re hopping around.

    1. Hi Lily. Yes they are big and they have room to move around. Not as much as they would have if they had to compete to eat or be eaten in the wild. Some of the residents have been rescued and could not survive in the wild.
