In the morning sun, the view over the town from the top of the hill is brilliant.
Most of the rain falls during the fall, from August to November. It is also called hurricane season. According to the French Press, “Hurricane Irma hit Saint Martin on 6 September 2017; 95% of the structures on the French side were damaged or destroyed.” (Agence France-Presse)
When we visited in April of 2019, most of the buildings had been repaired but there were still a few roofs covered with blue tarps.
We were not the only ones enjoying a walk in the morning sun on the quiet hillside.
Oh, I would love to have a ride in one of those tall ships! That would definitely be worthy of storytelling for years to come!!!
Beautiful photographs. My daughter and her husband take cruises several times a year. I have yet to muster up the courage to set foot on one! LOL
I loved the photo with the cruise liner in the background and the other magnificent vessel setting at the forefront.
I’d like to take a trip to a far off land where the beauty of nature takes one’s breath away.
