Among the smaller of the Princess cruise ships, this ship has 1337 cabins, for 2670 passengers. It operates with up to 1100 crew members to care for its passengers and 952 feet of ship with 18 decks, it is 205 feet high. It usually sails with about 2000 passengers. This cruise began in Yokohama at the cruise ship terminal below the Yokohama Bay Bridge over Tokyo Bay, Japan.
There is always entertainment around the ship. Here is one of the performers setting up in the Piazza on the lower level surrounded by open views from three decks above.
In the SkyWalker Lounge they have set up a welcome cocktail party for the most frequent group of passengers called the Captain’s Circle.
Near the stern, is the Horizon Court Restaurant, with access to the open deck with a pool, hot tubs and access to the basketball court on the 18th deck. The warm-up for the game is to climb all of the stairs.
Playing basketball on a ship is a special challenge. You have to allow for the wind when you take those long shots. For the jump shots, the deck may not be where you left it. You may have had an extra lift as the ship rolled but the deck will be farther down when you land. If Basket ball is too strenuous for you, this may be more your speed.
I mentioned in an earlier post that the Skywalker lounge was one of my favourite places in the ship. This is the view down the starboard side of the ship. Can you locate The Bridge where the Captain and navigation crew guide this floating city through the seas of the world? It is at the front and extends out on both sides and wraps around the front of the ship for the best visibility.
Enjoy the video from the Skywalker lounge where I find a quit place to practice my French lessons with Duolingo.
i definitely am tempted to check for tickets /rooms on a future cruise.. and am always astounded at the sheer size of these ships..
