Although most of the safari is done on the road, part of the fun is to ride a boat/barge around one of the islands. The island is the best way to keep the lemurs contained so that they do not wander off to bother the rest of the neighbours.
The lemurs are not exactly African animals. They come from the island of Madagascar which is to the east of South Africa.
The barge makes a tour around the man-made lake. It is not fancy but it does accommodate my brother in his wheelchair.
The lake is a refreshing treat for some of the other animals too.
There are also Rhinoserous in the park, and they love water, but they were staying on land. They were otherwise occupied and required some privacy.
that swimming hole must be heaven 🙂 loved the virtual safari, Doug!
