Canada’s Wonderland

Previously known as Paramount Canada’s Wonderland at the time my cousin took these pictures, it is now known as just Canada’s Wonderland. Cedar Fair purchased the park in 2006 and according to Wikipedia, it was the most visited seasonal amusement park in North America in 2018. With almost 3.8 million visitors, it is the second most visited of all of Cedar Fair’s parks just behind their Knott’s Berry Farm in California.

Now just Canada’s Wonderland

During the summer months, the line up to get through the gates is a lot longer than it is in September after all of the kids are back at school.

The wide gate is for wheelchairs and strollers.

On the other side of the gate the park opens up with a major concours that leads up to the mountain and the waterfall.

Man-made mountain, waterfall, and fountain

Th concourse is called International street and is the hub for all of the other themes areas of the park.

Entrance to Medieval Fare
Medieval Castle
Every town needs a dragon slayer.
Entrance to the Grand World Expo

At one time the mountain was the highest point of the park. Over time, more and more roller coasters were build. One every couple of years and each had to be bigger than the previous one.

Of course, not all of the rides are roller coasters. There are rides to spin you and rides to drop you. There is a special section for younger kids and a water park for those hotter days. On cooler days if you do not get your chills from the rides, you can get then from the water park.

The Xtreme Skyflyer

What is that structure for? Well, It is to let you free fall and get the feeling of hang gliding, sky diving and swinging all at the same time.

My cousin, Dorothy, the photographer and my brother Herb.

One of the scheduled entertainments is a diving exhibit where experienced divers jump from the top of the waterfall into the pool below. Of course, were you have water you are going to have fish.

These Koi are looking for food.

Before you leave, you will have to take another look at the fountain.

  1. Wonderful photos, Doug. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to such a park or on a roller coaster. I’m a bit of a scaredity cat. I was on one many years ago with my then little nephew. I screamed the whole ride and embarrassed him all to hell. He elbowed me alot. The castle reminded me of Disney where I had visited in Florida after a cruise. It feels like I haven’t been much of anywhere but this reminded me that I have. Thanks.

    1. It is reminding me that I have not been very far for 18 months. Wonderland is about 40 minutes away and has recently reopened.

  2. I am not one for extreme rides, I get motion sick even on a swing in the park 🙂 but I do go those with one or two gentle dips.. As for the other rides, I live vicariously through others and through posts like these 🙂 Thanks for introducing me to this park

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
