Sanya Harbour
This beautiful port city is the world’s window into the vacationland of China’s island province, Hainan. Our first sight of the city was on March 4, 2017 about 7:30 in the morning. Most of these pictures were taken around 4:oo PM after our land excursion. Did you notice the ship’s clock?
The photo below was taken around 7:50 in the morning, before the city and cultural center tour. The slides show below is a gallery of modern city towers. They are nothing like the fortification towers of ancient times.
Which ship do you prefer to travel on; the one above, or the one below?
– Where do you want to go today? –
As I suffer from seasickness/motionsickness, I would choose the Pacific Princess. Those towers are so photogenic – I have never been off the North American continent, but I would love to see that harbor one day.
Which one? Definitely the one above. Interesting pictures!
I probably would prefer the junk below- only because it wouldn’t be as crowded. But, of course, I would have to cook all my own meals….
I never have considered a visit to Sanya, though.
Beautiful photos, Doug! Almost makes me want to go home to China. I prefer the small boat. I bet you can smell the water. Hope it’s good.

Amazing pictures Doug. Learned a secret vacation spot. It appears that one or two days won’t do the trick to explore the island.

Yes. We were only there for a day and only visited the cultural center.
