Sunday is a great day for a walk in the woodlot. Let’s bring the dog with us, he loves it there.
There are many people enjoying the woodlot. Some walk alone, some walk with a friend and the dogs always bring their companion. This particular day, there was a class, from the adjoining school, out on a field trip in the woodlot for an art project. Watch closely, you will see them streaming excitedly down the trail. – NOTE: You will have to switch back out of full-screen mode if you choose to watch the video in full-screen mode by clicking on the bottom right corner of the video.
People only smell the fresh forest air. What do dogs smell? Everything?
Look at all of the acorns on the ground. That is why there are so many squirrels here. Some dogs love to chase the squirrels but most are too slow to catch them. Isn’t all the fun in the chase?
I love taking walks in areas where it’s not crowded with people. We have a park nearby that looks similar to yours. Such a peaceful and beautiful place to hike. Lia loves to hike and Rusty had his first out of the backyard hike the other day.
I want to go on more walks with you. And the dogs. And the squirrels. ahhh… thank you for the woodlot walk!
This was such a fun adventure. I have actually been collecting a couple acorns on all the hikes I’ve been on. I have been fascinated with the variety of oak tress I’ve come upon. Maybe my curiosity is almost like the way these doggies sniff around.
Enjoyed the short video clips, too. I felt like I was there!
Loved these walks with you Doug! We have a few similar hiking trails nearby that we used to hike regularly in but has been a few weeks now.. these posts inspire me to head back there
Hi Vidya
Thanks for the comment.
As the seasons change, the feeling and impression of the place changes.
I will have another video soon.
I live right by a beautiful park. It even has a library and a restaurant located in the center. Otherwise, my dog and I explore every day. The beauty lies in training the eye to see the ever changing aspects, not getting bored, but revived by the smells of nature. That’s what I call seeing the park through the eyes of my dog, Pearl.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment.
On this day, I was paying attention to how the forest floor looked different as the clouds played peek-a-boo with the sun.
