Alhambra Gardens 1

Spring views of the Alhambra Gardens – 1

April in Alhambra and the flowers are in bloom and leaves are emerging from the trees. There is so much to see that I have divided this blog into the part before we saw inside the Nazrid Palace buildings and the part we saw after leaving the Charles V Palace.

Begin with a walk up from the parking lot.

The Alhambra is like a small town with many buildings and services. There are restaurants and the Hotel America Granada near the Charles V Palace. There many gardens, some of them are still bare but there are signs of life.

Spring brings leaves to the branches.
Granada continues to grow around the fortress.
One never knows what they will see on their first visit.
You never know who you might meet.

A person could get lost in here.

There are fountains everywhere.
One section is called the Botanical Garden.
Most of the fountains are within the courtyards
In the heat of summer, this will be a nice shady spot.

It is almost time for a tour of the Palacios Nazaries and Palacio Carlos V. I will share more pictures of the gardens in the next post.

  1. Oh.My.Gosh. Beautiful pictures, a reader could get lost in them. Seeing your wonderful pictures almost makes me want to travel outside the USA. Almost.
