An Overview of Paris
Paris is a very interesting city. It’s central part is only 105 square kilometers and is home to 2.25 million people. That averages to 21,428 people per square kilometer.
Of that space a lot is dedicated to official buildings churches and parks. The head count does not include the souls in the cemeteries.
The “high rise” apartment buildings are outside of the city center. There is an inner ring road enclosing Paris and three surrounding “departments” and an outer ring road enclosing four more departments. The eight are called the Île-de-France.
The tallest tower, and unappreciated by the locals, is a modern 210m tower with panoramic views from roof terrace and 56th-floor observation deck.
Sacré-Cœur Basilica like the Eiffel tower and the Montparnasse tower are landmarks on the skyline of the city.

April and May 2016 weather was cooler than normal so the spring flowers lasted a little longer. These pictures were taken the first few days of May.
