Barcelona Marina

Barcelona Marina

Near the Barcelona Casino is the Olympic Port, a marina for the sailors of Barcelona. This may be a way around the hotel room shortage. Sunset is a wonderful time to take pictures. There were no harsh shadows even on the sandy beach.

Barcelona Marina.

This is a wonderful spot for a travel hub. Bus tours leave from here to all parts of Barcelona. It is also an ideal point to catch a catamaran ride along the coast. Our tour group stopped for about an hour and a half.

At the far end of the beach, on the left near the the sail shaped building, is where the Olympic beach events took place. The building is the W hotel of Barcelona. Why W? Why not?

As the sun sets, the city lights up.

We used our time to explore the area and select a place to eat. There is a mall along the coast with many restaurants. Options are overwhelming, with the easy decision being to eat near the beach or near the marina.

The road into the city

We met back at the bus around 8:30 to take a night tour up to the Montjuïc Castle and the Olympic stadium.

Beware of the hole in the road, people have been known to park their cars in there.

A most memorable stop near the Olympic stadium was to see the magic fountain. The fountain has a scheduled time of operation and displays a variety of colours and spray patterns.

Here is my video of the fountain:

  1. I agree that photographing at sunrise and sunset avoids shadows and is the best for getting good results. Hoping to talk with you when we get together and go over our itinerary. By the way, Joanne appreciates getting your blogs as well.

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
