Lillesand, Norway

From the port of Kristiansand in Norway, it is a half-hour drive to a popular vacation town called Lillesand. It is a well-sheltered harbour for leisure boats and a quaint old town style that definitely gives off the feeling of a vacation town.

Lillesand, Norway, is a popular summer vacation destination.

Behind the red buildings is one of the many marinas. There are several vacant slips but it is mid-September and I am sure that is not the case in the summer months.

The ramp looks like it was built for launching boats, but the rocks suggest it is just used as a beach for children to play in the sand.

There are shops selling everything a tourist would want and even things they have not yet realized they want.

There are some benches to sit and admire the world sail by while you rest your tired feet from all of the shopping.

Some evenings they can provide music from the bandstand.

This is the hotel right in the centre of town if you want to stay a few days or more.

The Hotel Norge.
Doesn’t it look inviting?

Maybe you could find a B&B in the town.

Are you planning your next vacation?

  1. You take very good photos. I was also in Norway on same trip that I was in Denmark many years ago. I was in Lillehammer- before the Olympics I think. I googled and it is about 8 hours away from Lillesand. Thanks for the memories.

  2. In answer to that question on your blog, I now want to go go Lillesand today!! This place has won me over – thanks to your gorgeous pics
