Mijas in Spain’s Costa del Sol

In the south of Spain on the Mediterranean coast is a region of Andalusia called the Costa del Sol. This aptly translates to “the sun coast”. It extends from Gibraltar north to Malaga in the province of Malaga. After leaving Gibraltar, our tour bus drove along the Mediterranean coast, the sea on the right and the mountains on the left. Near Marbella we saw the peak of Sierra de las Nieves.

About 25 minutes later we were in the mountains to visit the hillside village of Mijas Pueblo.

We only stayed long enough for a few photos, a walk around some of the shops and a washroom break before heading up the coast to our next hotel in Torremolinos.
