Queen Tribute Concert

The Wednesday night concerts in the park are very well attended. Here is a collection of clips from a group called Sheer Heart Attack who are doing a tribute to a British group called Queen. The lead vocalist of Queen was Freddie Mercury. There have been several movies made of his life.

Sheer Heart Attack performing songs from Queen

The video below will show you how busy the park was and give you a sense of the music of Queen.

One of their many popular songs

Do you recall any of their hit songs? How about Bohemian Rhapsody?

  1. Queen and Freddie! Huge fan here 🙂

Bohemian Rhapsody, the Show must go on, Barcelona, so many good ones.

Did you now they had a recording studio that was also used by David Bowie and the Rolling Stones in Montreux, Switzerland = my country. There is a statue of Freddie Mercury just by the lake, and a musem called “Queen – the Studio Experience” located inside the Casino. Great stuff!

Here’s an old post about my trip to Montreux i case you’re interested:

  2. I love Queen and remember watching Live Aid and then the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Great memories and great music! Another one bites the dust has always been one of my favorites but of course, Someone to love and Fat bottom girls are high on my list too.

  3. thoroughly enjoyable. I love Queen. We often listen to their CDs while driving from RI to VA (a 10-12 hour drive).

  4. What a full house and everyone looks like they are enjoying themselves. We have Thursday night concerts in the park at the edge of the ocean.

  5. A am a big fan of Queen – and looking at the crowds, they did not look like the Queen crowd!

    1. Bohemian Rhapsody
    2. We Will Rock You
    3. We Are the Champions
    4. Crazy Little Thing Called Love

I could go on and on about all of the great Queen and Freddie Mercury songs, but I’ll just leave it at those four for now. Bohemian Rhapsody is an all-time classic, and We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions are perfect examples of Queen’s incredible ability to write catchy rock anthems. Crazy Little Thing Called Love is just a fun little song that perfectly showcases Freddie Mercury’s amazing vocal range.

    Thanks for sharing!

  6. Doug, thanks for the Queen tribute! I love those songs Paul listed. Mainly, I loved their overall sound, especially Freddie’s voice. Apparently, I need to see one of those Freddie biopics.

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
