From St. James Park, we strolled along Birdcage Walk to Great George Street, crossed Parliament Street to Bridge Street and spent some time admiring the views from Westminster Bridge.
The two main iconic buildings are the Parliament buildings and the London Eye. The Palace of Westminster dates back to the eleventh century. It is currently the meeting place for the House of Commons and the House of Lords and is generally referred to as the Houses of Parliament.
At the eastern end of the bridge, the newer buildings are part of the entertainment center and London Eye ferris wheel. It was originally called the Millenium Wheel.
The bronze sculpture at the western end of the bridge represents the Celtic Queen Boadicea and her two daughters trampling the Romans who were occupying England.

We were in London just last fall, and your potpourri of British weather from gray to blue sky makes me smile.
Of course there were showers too on that same day. It was cool but days later it was unbearably hot.

I’ve crossed Westminster Bridge several times and somehow never properly noticed the Boadicea statue 🫣- proof that we can hurry straight past history even when it is practically trampling Romans beside us! 😅 Your photos make me want to walk across it again much more slowly. I love London! Do you live there? Which view did you prefer: Parliament or the London Eye?
It was just a visit. My daughter and granddaughter went to visit relatives near London and St. Pancras was our base for train trips and the underground.
The views from the London Eye were more interesting than the view of the Eye. 👁️🤭
I have yet to make it to the UK and I’m dying to go. I hope to make it soon.
