Canada Day 2025 Band and Dance

When a band marches past, it is more exciting when they are playing their instruments at the same time. The music may be to accompany the marchers who are walking behind or to support the dancers.

Watch this video to see what I mean. (try changing the settings at the bottom right of the video when it is playing to see it at a different speed of in higher detail.)

Sometimes the people walking in the parade could benefit from some musical support and sometimes they are drowned out by the band of an adjacent float.

Now a final video of my favourite band, the Steel Drum Band. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this month.

    1. We were OK on Canada day but our town was hit with a “micro-burst” of wind that upturned and broke trees, knocking out power for six hours.

  1. Loving the picts again… (still?)

Your point about the band actually playing while they march is so true, because there is something about live sound moving through a crowd that a recording just cannot replicate. I had to smile at the steel drum band being your favorite, because steel drums at an outdoor celebration feel like the whole world decided to be in a good mood at the same time. Sounds like a wonderful Canada Day.

    1. Thanks for the comment, I did not make the connection to dancing around the maypole, but the colors attracted my eye and I took some time to choose the best frame from the video for a picture.

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
