Canada Day Parade 4

Let’s look at some of the vehicles in this year’s parade, specifically the cars and trucks. Some are antiques, some are current technology and some represent the technology that predate the cars.

This car has been seen in my blog back in 2017. That was the 150th birthday of Canada. I wonder how many times it has been out of the garage since then. (click on the orange text to open that blog post)

deja vu
almost the same, but not quite.

With that trivia out of the way, I decided do do this in reverse chronological order.

Current Technology

Tesla Gull Wing

Pictures in the galleries can be seen full size if you click on them.

TOY- or - car ? Waiting for the rest of the parade to catch up.

The future is here. Electric motor drive, battery powered.

The promotional advertising must have blown away.

Antiques

High and Low
SAFETY LAST.

Fire Trucks

ladder truck

I'm glad we are not dependent on these beauties.

Original models

Expertly cared for.
AT LAST, the parade is over.

  1. Loved this post on the Canada Day Parade and the cars are fun to see! I lived in Canada for nine years. I tweeted your post 🙂

  2. How fun! My boys would have loved this parade when they were young — the fire trucks! 🙂 I have never seen the Tesla Gull Wing – not sure if they are available here in the states or not.

  3. That first vintage car is fabulous!!! We were in London, Ontario for Canada Day once…or was it on 4th of July? It was just weird being in another country for the 4th of July, and the town was called London too. I think being in a town called London during the 4th of July seemed strange to me at the time as a teenager! We’ve moved around a lot and I do remember all the celebrations that were held in Michigan on the east part of the state to celebrate both holidays.

  4. My favorite is definitely “original models”! I get so excited when I see horses!!! They are so beautiful! Thank you for including these beauties in your backward glance at the history of transportation!

    1. Thanks Alice, I knew there would be some people who would find the horses a highlight. That is why they are a big part of a parade in spite of their mess. That is one of the things that can hold up a parade while the cleanup crew does their work.

  5. I love vintage cars.
In Switzerland a number of “U.S. Classic Car Meetings” take place over the course of each summer, it’s always so pictoresque.
What a contrast from the old school cars to an electric Tesla.

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
