Dubrovnik Port View

Viewing the city of Dubrovnik from the top of a large Cruise ship is a great way to appreciate the city and the feeling of living in such a beautiful place. It may be spring and it is the Mediterranean, but it is still a little cool. Do you like those Costa blankets?

Port of Dubrovnik from the top of the Costa Fortuna.

The spectacular bridge is the Franjo Tuđman Bridge. It crosses a long bay that provides a sheltered harbour for smaller vessels. Can you imagine owning your own boat that you could sail out into the Adriatic Sea? You would have to watch out for all of the ferry boat traffic that connects Bubrovnik with the rest of the Mediterranean ports.

Dockside in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Imagine yourself looking north from the cruise ship docked in front of the Hotel Petka. The map below might help.

Thanks to Google maps

Take a minute or so to get a sense of the harbour and take a look out towards the Adriatic Sea.

Here is a gallery of photos from the dock level. <You should be able to select an image and get a larger view of it.> Do you like boats or do you prefer churches, castles and forts?

It was a great week, and I have spent a month sharing it with you through this blog. Thanks to the Ultimate Blog Challenge #blogboost for keeping me up to the pace. When we were not in port, the Costa Fortuna Cruise Ship was our home and it offered a lot of things to do when we were out to sea. Enjoy this last video to say farewell to Dubrovnik, Croatia.

    1. Thanks for the comment Samantha. You are making me think that I should go back and add a #bridge tag to all of my blog posts that have bridges. Maybe even start an instagram board for bridges.

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
