Are you rushing through life so fast that you are leaving your boots behind?
Where are you in such a hurry to get to, “Boot Hill”?
I first heard of “Boot Hill” in the tales of the USA’s Wild West and the most recent one I saw was in the Faulklands near Stanley. That is where I took this blurry picture as the Jeep bumped past it on the side of the road.

There are conflicting stories,  like many legends, about why this boot hill exists. Here are links to two examples:

In the “Wild West” a cemetery was often called “Boot Hill”.  The tales say a cowboy wanted to die with his boots on. (as opposed to lying in bed? Most people die in bed. So when you wake up, get out of bed, it is a dangerous place.)  ;-(
Wiki lists about 38 “Boot Hill” sites in the USA alone.

This post was prompted by a picture shared on Facebook by my friend, Susan, and as a response to a question asked by her friend, Jane, in the comment field. In the wonderful province of Alberta, recent floods have revealed some new species.
You don’t want to miss this.

So, take time to enjoy life with a smile. Stop and smell the boots, euwh. What’s the rush? Where are you rushing to today?
