Olympia

The tour of Olympia was rather quick, only about 90 minutes. However, the videos will give you a sense of the place. There is more there than these pictures can show.

This video will give you a quick look around.

One of the few buildings standing
We might get a chance to look inside.

Here is a video of the remaining building.

I like to hear the birds singing.

This last video shows the field where the track events took place. You can hear the guide telling us a little about the games. Unfortunately the wind was competing with her in true Olympic fashion.

After you have left a comment below, you might want to look at a YouTube video of the lighting of the Olympic flame for the 2010 Olympics in London. The torch is actually lit here. You might recognize some of the places in these pictures. The Torch is then carried by a team of relay runners through the towns and cities of the countries into the host country for the games of that year.

  1. Wow, that was fascinating. I really enjoyed the videos, although I didn’t understand the woman who talked about the track because of all of that wind. But still. So cool. I felt like you had taken me on your adventure with you!!!

Thanks for looking at the pictures. Tell me what you liked, or didn't.
